Event Description: We are looking forward to another wonderful Kites for Kids event here at Variety’s Peaceable Kingdom Retreat for Children on Saturday March 17th. This event is a chance for families and kids of all ages and ability levels to spend a day at our retreat. We have Kite Flying, Contests, Parachute Games, Mini-Golf, Bounce Houses, Movie Theater in the Woods, Face Painting, and many other great activities. In past years, we have invited various vendors and entertainers to participate in our event. Last year, we hosted over 1,000 visitors. This year I am in charge of organizing this event and I am so excited for the plans we have. We are expanding our activities to include a demonstration by Texas Roller Derby from Austin as well as a craft station from Temple Children’s Museum. We will have sweets donated by Bluebell Ice Cream, Nestle, and Mars as well as several food trucks, including Kona Ice.
